1. Snakes Say Hiss

The more I feel old, the more I dont want to be. These songs make me want to make every bike ride as long as possible.

2. Lykki Li

Seductive Swedish dancy goodness that I couldn’t help but have in steady rotation. Many a friends were disgruntled with me for the constant repeat of “Little Bit.”

3. MGMT

“I’m feeling rough I’m feeling wrong in this time of my life.” // Live fast and die young. The current philosophy, in line with band number one, perhaps a scared- to-grow-up reoccurring theme?

4. Kid Cudi

I think Kid Cudi is perhaps the next big rapper to really be of any significance. Maybe not as in historical significance, but in terms of getting new people to listen to rap. The regular rap routine about moving weight and popping bottles is reduced to a bare minimum, giving the songs on his mixtape A kid Named Cudi a lighthearted authenticity not found in most popular rap music. He is clearly taking the Post-Kanye rapper route, not at all claiming any preposterous street credibility that most mainstream rappers spout, he presents himself as an individual working towards his own vein of rap music, perhaps with more content then contraband.

5. Mount Eerie

I was fortunate enough to see a Mt Eerie show in Brooklyn this past fall and had a really great experience. It was great to see someone who puts so much effort into their art perform. This guy is constantly touring, working with new people, putting out great records, not to mention publishing books! I really respect him for making his albums in such a conceptual way and incorporating his own art. This makes the music more complete with a visual counterpart that came from the same place.
