LAGOMORPHASIS

This year, being one of many general life changes, was not one of much musical change. So, in retrospect, I have compiled this list of missed musical opportunities, music to which I should have been listening (in alphabetical order).

[01] Braid

Frame and Canvas was my favorite album for a long time, but then it got sacrificed to the god of forgetful friends.

[02] Sam Cooke

Sexy, soulful, simple, and fun—everything I wish I was.

[03] The Cure

Dark and pretty just like I like my… chocolate.

[04] Dismemberment Plan

Catchy, clever, and danceable—what else can you ask for in a nearly-forgotten indie rock legend?

[05] Philip Glass

Structure, repetition, intricacy, and the illusion that beauty can go on and on forever—a lovely escape from reality. Great background music, too.

[06] The Kinks

Sassy and catchy—what I look for in a friend.

[07] Neutral Milk Hotel

Who doesn't love a well-crafted concept album (In the Aeroplane Over the Sea)?

[08] Pavement

Crunchy, gritty, and good—I’m big into texture.

[09] Elvis Presley

Any man who can get me to dance and cry in the same ten minutes deserves my attention at least, if not my heart.

[10] Talking Heads

Geniuses.
